Protestantism

Protestantism – he religion or religious system of any of the Churches of Western Christendom that are separated from the Roman Catholic Church and adhere substantially to principles established by Luther, Calvin, etc., in the Reformation. Protestantism is the most flexible branch of Christianity; at first Protestants were those who protested against pontiff. In XVIth century feudalism was widely spread and the greatest 'landlord' of all existed was Catholic Church. At that time most of the people belonged to bourgeois class and policy leaded by government was inconvenient for them as according to this policy they had no chance to improve their welfare so they took the field against feudalism and as Catholic Church was the greatest 'landlord' there was no way to protest against feudalism without protesting the church.

Unlike the religion of Greek-Catholic Church Protestantism proclaims person as individual that is able to take part at the process of religious development. Before that church explained every person as another link of over-individual chain. Protestantism also change the understanding of god, according to it god exists because he is necessary for person who trusts in god, other words everyone will be granted according to its faith, to what he believe in. These conditions, under which Protestantism appeared, are common for Germany and Sweden. Unlike this two countries in England government acted as initiator of protesting against Greek-Catholic Church. In 1543 England rejected pontific and church and closed all the catholic churches around country. Soon new English faith symbols were chosen and thirty nine articles written that disclaimed all of the catholic doctrines about purgatory, indulgence, worship for icons and saints and celibate of priests. Though, the doctrine that proclaims church as the only and necessary intermediary between God and people remain unchanged, so English Protestantism is a synthesis of catholic and protestant religions.

Protestantism just like any other widespread religion has its own branches; the biggest of them is Lutheranism and Calvinism. No matter on great number of such branches they have one common feature: Protestants believe that serving for God is expressed in their faith in him but not in good acts with respect to church or priest. Church is an intermediary between God and human, thereby one have to concentrate on his faith but not on cause good for church. For example in case if one always pays poor tax and church tax and meanwhile thinking about what he will get in response he won't get to heaven as he disrespects God. Anglicanism is the greatest movement of Protestantism, but some scholars consider Anglicanism to be the independent religion. Anglicanism is distinctive by its ceremonies, those are much stately than protestant are. The ground book of Anglicanism is 'The Book of Common Prays'. Prays of that book are written in such ambiguous language that all of the Anglicans churches has no single point of view on performing ceremonies.
