Jainism

Jainism – an ancient Hindu religion, which has its own scriptures and believes that the material world is eternal, progressing endlessly in a series of vast cycles. Jainism is philosophic-religious movement founded by wandering priest Vardhamana who later was known as Mahavira and Jina that is translated as 'Great hero' and 'Conqueror' appropriately. Unlike many other religions that appeared at one place and later became religions of many nations and countries Jainism has always been Indian religion exclusively. The main book of Jainism that contents regulations of living is canon of svetambaras that mean the canon of those who dressed up white. Another book of no less importance is Umashvati. Jainism like Buddhism rejected ceremonialism and abstract dogmatism, but unlike the Buddhism was closely connected to Brahmanism. The core of Jainism teaching was efforts to realize the sense of human being. Jainism teaches that the main condition for one's trespass from imperfect form to the perfect one was high morality, so unlike the Buddhism Jainism religion has never rejected strict moral limits of growing up children.

The whole Jainism teaching is based on so-called 'three pearls', those are the right faith, right cognition and the right behavior. Among these three pearls the most important is the right faith, as Jainists believed that if there's no right faith there couldn't be the right cognition and behavior. The right faith it's a belief in Mahavira's teaching, recognizing him as a prophet and honoring of Mahavira and his teaching. According to Jainism faith is the basis of religion and if there is no faith there's nothing. Faith is a door to the perfect and absolute truth. Faith in its turn is impossible without knowledge, as a lack of knowledge results confuse and confuse give rise for dependence but there's no way for dependent persone to realize absolute truth.

Realizing of absolute truth possible only after one won the fight to himself, as only strong and smart person is able to fight to himself and win this fight. After he won he may enter the next stage of Jainism teaching the right behavior. To enter the stage of right behavior one has to make five vows that are the basis of Jainism religion. Actually, but for these vows Jainism would disappear as religion and teaching, but those do exist and those are honored and Jainism still exists and develops and the number of its followers multiplies. Once Jain made those vows he forswears this world and become free and independent. According to Jainism to realize the absolute truth one has to dispose anything material, to clear his soul of this-world's material values. At first one have to stop this-world's values' penetrating to his soul and mind and once he did it he has to clear his min and soul from the material values that have already penetrated there.
